Valorant primarily revolves around characters called “Agents”. These Agents are each player’s in-game avatar, and each possesses a powerful set of abilities. Each agent has an Ultimate that is significantly strong compared to the rest of their abilities, and the Ultimates usually have a huge impact on the game. Although every Ultimate is unique, some are flat out better than the rest. Here is every Ultimate ranked from worst to best.
11 Blade Storm (Jett)
After using the Ultimate Jett quips 5 knives, that are very accurate and can deal decent damage. Jett can either throw them one at a time or all at once. This is a very mediocre Ultimate that doesn’t provide much apart from some damage. The damage itself is single target damage, which means she can’t annihilate multiple enemies at once. Her ultimate doesn’t bring much to the table, and in many cases, players tend to stick with their guns instead of using Jett’s knives.
10 Hunter’s Furry (Sova)
Firing three arrows that deal lethal damage seems fantastic on paper, but not in-game. Sova’s Ultimate is very hit or miss, and in the majority of scenarios, enemies will be able to dodge it. It’s very hard to control all the three arrows, and the recoil after firing one is immense. Hunter’s Furry is usually used as a zoning ability instead of damaging ability. Due to its very inconsistent firing pattern and hard handling, Hunter’s Fury isn’t that valuable in competitive gameplay.
9 From The Shadows (Omen)
Omen Ultimate lets him teleport anywhere on the map. As broken as it may sound, in reality, it’s very easy to counter. Before Omen uses his teleport, he makes a distinct noise, and the entire minimap becomes hazy.
Anyone that is paying attention will most likely become more vigilant, which limits Omen’s capability to be efficient on the battlefield. Players can trick their enemies by fake teleporting, but in most cases and especially in high elo, players know how to play around it.
8 Viper’s Pit (Viper)
Vipers Ultimate is very situational, which makes it unreliable. Her pit covers a massive area, which is great for post-plant situations, but apart from that, it doesn’t bring any value to the team. Setting a perfect Viper Ultimate takes a lot of skill and timing. Agents like Cypher and Sova that have information gathering abilities can easily nullify Viper’s Ultimate. However, if the opposing team doesn’t have any utilities or Ultimate, her Ultimate can be a great tool for choking opposing players.
7 Run It Back (Phoenix)
Phoenix’s Ulitmate perfectly compliments his playstyle and overall kit. His Ultimate, which basically makes him invincible for a few seconds, allows him to play aggressively and roll into dangerous territories. Not only it’s a great asset for securing kills, but it is also a great scouting tool. Players with an aggressive playstyle will particularly thrive while using his Ultimate, and the rest of Phoenix’s kit also goes hand in hand with his Ultimate.
6 Rolling Thunder (Breach)
Breach’s Ulitmate is a good disrupting ability that can be used for setting up plays. Breach fires a shock wave that disrupts everything in its path and knocks up any player that is caught in it. It can be used for checking corners, disrupting a Spike plant, or simply as a distraction.
However, it doesn’t deal any damage and can be dodged easily if played correctly. The Ultimate also requires proper execution to be efficient.
5 Empress (Reyna)
Using Empress grants Reyna a couple of buffs, which includes increased fire rate and reduced reload time for a brief period. She thrives in chaotic conditions, and Empress allows her to go ballistic under any condition. She is a great Agent for solo queue and is great against players that are new to the game. Using her Ultimate, Reyna can take on multiple enemies at once, which makes her a great upfront duelist.
4 Showstopper (Raze)
One of the most difficult Ultimate to deal with, Showstopper is a game-changer. Raze equips a mega-rocket that only has one charge in it. However, that one charge is enough to sweep an entire team, and when used correctly, can wreak havoc. Her Ultimate is very easy to use, and players new to the game will find decent success with Raze. Like most Ultimates in the game, Showstopper also gives a distinct sound cue, which usually alerts the opposing team.
3 Orbital Strike (Brimstone)
Orbital Strike is extremely powerful as anyone caught inside will most likely die. It does, however, give a huge sound noise when it’s going off, and it’s pretty easy to dodge, but that doesn’t take anything from how impactful the Ultimate can be. It’s great for clearing choke points and can turn the tide of any game if used correctly.
2 Ressurection (Sage)
A very simple yet super effective Ultimate, Ressurection allows Sage to bring any dead ally back to the game. Her Ultimate makes any round essentially a 6 vs 5. Resurrecting any ally is nothing short of amazing, especially in a 1 vs 1 or a 1 vs 2 situations. That resurrected ally could be the difference between you winning or losing the game. Additionally, Sage can revive any Agent she wants, and there are no gimmicks to it.
1 Neutral Theft (Cypher)
Information gathering is one of the most important aspects of Valorant, and Cypher excels at it. His Ultimate displays the location of every alive enemy on the map for a short period. Even though the locations are displayed only for a short period, it’s usually enough for good players to capitalize on. Locating every enemy gives you the necessary intel and buys you enough time to rotate or restrategize depending upon the number of opposing players remaining.
