RELATED: Things To Do Immediately When Starting Terraria

Events play a pivotal part in Terraria, chiefly acting as a means of blowing off steam or, more importantly, acquiring tools and items that help players progress through the game. Most world-influencing occurrences happen when players use event-summoning items — not to be confused with items that summon minions — or begin upon meeting particular circumstances, as others happen randomly without any discernable causation. These happenings are crucial for players; thus, here is every Event in Terraria — and how to start them.

The Party

The Party is an Event where one to three NPCs have a celebration, not for anything in particular, just for fun and cake. This impromptu jamboree is primarily visual as NPCs, and some creatures, wear Party Hats as balloons decorate the background. However, the Clothier and Party Girl will sell novelty and vanity items available during this time. The Party is one of the Events that are fun, problem-free, and exempt from any other stressors.

The Lantern Night

The Lantern Night is an Event where the world celebrates players for their triumph against a boss or invasion for the first time — they also occur randomly following the defeat of the Moon Lord. This tranquil observance is almost entirely visual as countless lanterns fly in the background. Yet, the Party Girl will sell a Release Lantern for players to join in the celebration. Thus, allowing players the opportunity to unwind and revel in their triumphs.

The Blood Moon

The Blood Moon is an Event where the moon turns a foreboding crimson shade, its ominous glow corrupting everything. This paranormal lunar phase changes the world visually and affects creatures and enemies. During the Blood Moon, passive critters become hostile, enemy spawn rates increase, particular enemies can open doors, and new enemies will appear. This Event makes nighttime which is already dangerous, far more deadly.

The Goblin Invasion

The Goblin Invasion is an Event where a goblin army attacks players relentlessly until they are defeated. This sudden offensive sees players fend against waves of goblins that use sheer strength and numbers to their advantage. Should players overcome the last wave, the army of goblins will retreat in defeat, and the Goblin Tinkerer will spawn in the world, who is a necessary NPC for progressing the game and reaching the end.

Slime Rain

Slime Rain is an Event where slime rains down from the sky instead of the usual precipitation. This unnatural weather has slimes shower down onto the world, and should players slay enough, specifically 150, summon the boss King Slime. Slime Rain is an inconsequential Event at best, but it does provide players a significant amount of coins and unique items should they slay slimes and meet the requirement for getting King Slime to emerge.

This foray from another world has players face numerous waves of the Old One’s Army that features a diverse assortment of enemies. Defeating the Old One’s Army will provide players various rewards, including weapons, armor, and Defender Medals. These items are well worth overcoming the nefarious Old One’s Army.

The Torch God

The Torch God is an Event where players face an enemy concealed in the form of their most trusted light source, Torches. This divine test has players fight the fiery Torch God, an unseen deity that presides over all Torches, keeping them forever-lit. Should players survive the Torch God’s onslaught of fireballs, they receive the Torch God’s Favor, a consumable item that allows players to convert Torches to a variant of their immediate biome.

The Frost Legion

The Frost Legion is an Event where players must fight against hordes of killer snowmen equipped with snowballs, knives, and Tommy Guns. This frosty incursion only transpires during the Christmas season; after all, nothing says holiday cheer like the bloodthirsty, weapon-toting snowmen of the Frost Legion. If players defeat this army of snowmen, Santa Claus will appear and settle in, joining them until the Christmas season ends.
