Now, it is important to remember that a handful of popular villagers will be celebrating their birthdays in June, such as the sisterly horse villager Reneigh, whose special day falls on the fourth of June. Given that Reneigh is under the sisterly personality type, almost any gift will make her happy. Of course, players should note that there are no right or wrong gifts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, though certain presents will increase their friendship points with the villager. Moreover, giving them something that matches their personality is definitely a nice touch that will make the gift even more special.

For example, Scoot, who is a jock villager, is mostly interested in anything related to fitness and sports. Therefore, it would be nice for players to send him a gift that is related to his interests such as workout apparel or other objects that relates to physical exercise. Again, while villagers will appreciate most gifts from the player, but giving them presents related to their interests will definitely make them happy on their special day and will increase their friendship points with that specific villager. Other special villagers who will be celebrating their birthdays include the shopkeepers of Nook’s Cranny, Timmy and Tommy Nook.

Sending Gifts to Villagers

Now to those who do not know how to give villagers gifts, there are currently two ways available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. First, players can head to the airport where a postcard station is located to the left of Orville. From there, players can choose a wide variety of stationery, and there is even one that is made specifically for birthdays. Once the player chooses their preferred stationery design, they can then write a letter and enclose a gift to be sent to their villager of choice.

On the other hand, the most direct way to give a gift is to simply approach the villager and choose the option that will prompt the player to give them an item from their inventory. In this option, players will receive instant feedback on the villager’s response to the gift, and when the player gives them clothes, the villager would automatically change into it. It is worth noting that this option can only be unlocked after the player establishes a relationship with the villager. So players who is planning to give a gift to a villager who just moved in should opt for the postcard option, which will cost them 200 bells.

How to Choose the Perfect Gift

Lastly, giving villagers gifts that match their personality is one thing, but there is actually a better way to increase the player’s friendship points with villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Upon reaching the level where the player is able to give villagers gifts in person, it is worth knowing that having the gift wrapped will make the villager happier than giving the present unwrapped. For those unaware, wrapping paper can be purchased via the cabinet in Nook’s Cranny for 160 Bells per piece, or 800 Bells in quantities of five. After purchasing the wrapping paper, players must go to their inventory, click the wrapping paper, choose wrap, and select the item to be wrapped.

Apart from wrapping paper, villagers will guarantee to like a gift if it’s a furniture that is valued at 10,000 Bells or more. It is worth noting that it doesn’t matter what kind of furniture it is, but as long as it is wrapped, and is priced at the aforementioned value, then it is guaranteed that the villager will love the gift and will deepen the bond between them and the player. Using these simple tricks, and giving the gift on the villager’s actual birthday will definitely make their special day even more meaningful.
